For those unfamiliar with Florida's Emerald Coast, please note that our area does not have year-round warm weather like South Florida. We have four distinct seasons including a short winter with a few light freezes. It's particularly beautiful here during our cool months with crystal-clear days and nights. You just have to remember to bring enough clothes to stay warm on the water. Check with us prior to your trip for advice on what to pack. You will need polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and we suggest foul-weather gear. Our boats don't have tops, so prepare to be out in the elements all day. Please wear shoes with white or light soles. We will ask you to remove black-soled shoes prior to boarding. Also, we ask that you use non-spray sunscreen as a chemical in the spray products stains the gelcoat. There's a chance we'll be doing some wading. During the warmer months we'll be on hard-packed sand, and clients can go barefoot or wear sandals. Crocs work great. From November through April the water may be cool enough for waders. Check with Capt Baz. We supply your fishing licenses, bottled water, and a cooler with ice. Bring your lunch and anything you want to drink besides water. Alcohol is okay in moderation. You can bring your own fly tackle or use ours. If you are bringing your own be sure to have the proper flyline for the time of year. "Tropical" mono-core lines are good May through October. From November through April you'll be better off with "braided-core" winter lines. Most of our fishing is with floating lines, but there are times when intermediate or full-sinking lines are the ticket. Check with Capt Baz. We are also happy to provide hand-tied leaders and flies. Many clients tie their own flies and want to use their own creations. If not we'll supply you with the flies that have been working recently. Of course, we never get tired of talking about fly tackle. If you are just starting out or are looking to upgrade your current tackle, talk to Captain Baz. We work with a select group of manufacturers and will steer you in the right direction. Sponsorships and endorsements include:
