Winter in Pensacola is the time and place to catch trophy redfish. We also target slot-sized reds, bluefish, false albacore, speckled trout, and sheepshead, but bull reds are the main event. The most exciting action involves 10 wt and 12 wt fly gear and 2/0 to 3/0 poppers. In March the sheepshead fishing turns on and there's a fair chance of catching an early-season pompano. High temperatures are in the 50's and 60s, and the Gulf water tends to be clear. For other 2006 galleries, see Photo Gallery for Spring 2006 and Photo Gallery for Summer 2006. For examples of last year's action, see our Photo Gallery for Winter 2005, our Photo Gallery for Spring 2005, the Photo Gallery for Summer 2005, or the Photo Gallery for Fall 2005.
